Brazilian creative held the position of CCO in the US and chairman and CCO at the local agency

But after nearly 30 years as part of the BBBO network, a network of agencies in the portfolio of the North American holding company Omnicom, Brazilian advertising executive Luiz Sanches is leaving the group where he held the position of CCO Americas at BBDO and also that of CCO and chairman of AlmapBBDO, where he began his career as a trainee on Marcello Serpa’s team. Later, when Serpa sold his share to Omnicom, Sanches was his replacement.
An art director by training, known for his rigor in the craft of his work, Sanches built a solid career in advertising, being one of the most awarded at festivals such as Cannes Lions, DA&D and the New York Festival, for example.
Taking the place left by Serpa was a challenge for Sanches. But he, with his talented team, kept AlmapBBDO among the most creative in the world.
The Cannes Film Festival recognized the agency as the best performing in the world between 2010 and 2020 – the Agency of the decade. Propmark had access to an internal letter from AlmapBBDO signed by CEO Filipe Bartholomeu, which follows below:
