During its “Made on YouTube” event, the platform unveiled new AI-powered features, community-focused tools and monetization opportunities for creators. The goal is to support both new and experienced creators, helping them grow their audiences and grow their businesses.
Among the major announcements is the integration of AI model Veo into YouTube Shorts’ “Dream Screen” feature, enabling the creation of AI-generated videos, as well as new backgrounds for content. Starting in 2025, users will be able to create standalone six-second video clips for their Shorts.
The platform also launched “Communities,” a dedicated space within channels where creators and fans can interact directly, starting conversations and creating deeper connections. This new feature is already available to some creators, with expansion planned for 2025.
Another highlight is “Hype,” a tool that allows fans to promote videos from creators with fewer than 500,000 subscribers, increasing their chances of being discovered by new audiences. During beta testing, Hype has already been used more than 5 million times across 50,000 channels.
In addition to these new features, YouTube announced the expansion of its automatic dubbing feature to more languages, new monetization features such as digital gifts, and the expansion of the YouTube Shopping affiliate program to new markets.
YouTube CEO Neal Mohan said: “We’re committed to ensuring that creativity flourishes, communities thrive, and the creator economy grows on YouTube. We want to create a future full of opportunity.”
These announcements reflect YouTube’s commitment to providing tools for creators to continue to grow on the platform and explore new forms of creative expression.
