Sky started its Red December campaign, called “Bollas do Bem”, and will donate 2,500 soccer balls to the blood donors of the San Lucas Blood Center, do Paulista Blood Bank and yes Pro-Sangue Foundation.
The campaign is a solidarity project that started in 2020 and aims to encourage blood donation. According to the note sent to the press, 100% of the donations are aimed at the campaign, logistics and production of soccer balls, which are red in honor of the blood.
“Through this project, we want to encourage blood donation, which decreased a lot during the pandemic and which tends to drop even more with the holiday season. It is a gift from us to those who, like us, engage in actions that help others without any consideration other than the satisfaction in helping”, highlighted Raphael Denadai, president of SKY Brasil.
According to Rafael Barajas, co-founder of Play FC, which is sponsored by Sky, this year’s goal is to help ten thousand lives. “When Bolas do Bem arrives, many people from the surrounding area are interested and adhere to blood donation. An official ball is the best gift an adult can take home and, this year, SKY’s support allowed us to dream big, we’ll help save much more than 10,000 lives,” said Barajas.
The first edition of the campaign collected a thousand balls and helped the three largest Blood Banks in Brazil to save more than four thousand lives. Each blood bag collected is divided into four components that can be used in up to four different patients.
Donations can be scheduled through the blood bank websites. According to the company, it is also possible to contribute to the campaign through the purchase of balls at the site do Play FC.
