The Indie Summit 2024, held on October 31st at the STATE Innovation Center, in São Paulo, brought a complete and diverse program aimed at the independent agency market, with lectures and panels on creativity, technology, ESG, entrepreneurship and sustainability. Organized by AdGroup, the event was sponsored by Warner Bros. Discovery, Dailymotion, DIEX Mídia, STATE Innovation Center, Bullet and Tech and Soul. The morning of the event was marked by enriching and in-depth discussions on contemporary topics in the world of independent agencies.
The opening was carried out by AdGroup partners, Cathy Birle and Daniel Rosa. Soon after, Cláudio Kalim, Co-founder and CEO of Tech&Soul, gave the lecture “Our story: from Coworking to Astor to the computer screen to a large structure”, exploring the integration of creativity and technology in business. The first panel, “ESG in the Indies,” highlighted the role of independent agencies in promoting diversity, inclusion and freedom of choice. Mediated by Leonardo Araujo (Founder and CEO of C4V3), Jef Martins (Head of Communications at B&Partners and director of APP) and Patrícia Santos (CEO and Founder of EmpregueAfro), the debate highlighted how ESG initiatives can strengthen the social and cultural impact of these companies. Next, the panel “Creativity in a world where everything is possible” explored the role of creativity in the face of new technologies. Daniel Rosa (Founder and CEO of AdNews and partner at AdGroup), Marcelo Zampini (Founder and CCO of MEZA/1618) and Bruno Moretti (Founder and Executive Director of Blanko) shared insights on how innovation can elevate creative value and how Agencies can adapt to an ever-evolving digital landscape.
In the panel “AI: Future and/or Present”, Demetrio Teodorov (Futurist and Strategist), Alexandre Azevedo (Head of Planning LATAM at Aunica) and Lara Krumholz (General Manager for Latin America at Dailymotion) discussed the transformations brought about by artificial intelligence and the current and future impacts of technology on independent agency communication.
Closing the morning, the “Humanized Independents” panel highlighted the importance of purpose for agencies that seek impact beyond profit. Ligia Costa (Founder of TGI Today), Jorge Pacheco (CEO and Founder of STATE Innovation Center) and Felipe Silva (Founder and CCO of Agência Gana) addressed how human values and social responsibility can transform not only business, but also people’s lives .
