The film is a partnership between Magazine Luiza and Instituto Mulheres do Brasil
Júpiter Conteúdo em Movimento, in partnership with Magazine Luiza and the Instituto Mulheres do Brasil, launched the documentary ‘Pra Quem Eu Vou Contar? – A Portrait of Domestic Violence in Brazil’, which addresses the cycle of abuse against women and the impact of domestic violence on mental health.
Presented by Mariana Varella and directed by Thaís Roque, the film features exclusive interviews with women’s rights activist Maria da Penha, infectious disease specialist Ivete Boulos and businesswoman Luiza Trajano, in addition to presenting the story of Bárbara, a Magalu saleswoman who used the company channels to expose and leave an abusive relationship.
“The research for the film was conducted very carefully by our screenwriter, Paula Padilha, with the fundamental support of Magalu and the NGO Mulheres do Brasil, which helped us access relevant data and connect us with women who suffer or have suffered domestic violence. The biggest challenge was telling sensitive stories without exposing people’s identities. We used dramaturgy resources such as reenactments, and statements with voice distortion and without showing the face”, explains Thaís Roque, director of the documentary.
