The podcast ‘Propaganda isn’t just that’, presented and created by Lucas Schuch, launched the series ‘Affinities’, which addresses issues about inclusion and diversity in the advertising market, crossing the topics with the experiences of the leaders of Droga5 São’s affinity groups Paul.
The inaugural episode features the participation of advertisers Kimani Santos and Caroline Salla, leaders of a representative group of black and indigenous people at the Droga5 São Paulo agency, and talks about hiring, maintaining, training and giving opportunities.
“This is not just about teaching how to fish. In fact, there are already many talented fishermen in our ‘village’. What we need to do is simply give space for these professionals to show their value. We need mechanisms that approve diversity and inclusion projects , ensuring that these competent voices are heard and valued”, highlights Kimani Santos.
The first episode lasts 48 minutes and is available on Spotify. The next episodes address the welcoming of LGBT people in advertising, parental rights in the advertising market, hormone therapy as an acquired right in advertising and women in advertising leadership.
“Here we understand that we have a certain privilege in being an agency that truly cares about diversity, including black, indigenous, disabled and neurodivergent people. Our society is diverse, and our work environment must also reflect this reality in practice. Our The group acts as a space for resistance and reflection seeking to bring significant and practical contributions, always combating these setbacks. Our work is to ensure that inclusion is not just a disposable agenda, but a reality experienced in practice”, says Caroline.
