Repense Comunicação is the advertising agency for Festival Pet, the first large festival in the world of pets in Brazil.
Scheduled for the first half of 2025, in São Paulo, the festival’s proposal is to bring together several attractions related to pets and their owners, as well as content actions and experience activations, among other activities related to the theme.
The Pet Festival is an initiative by the same organizers as Virada Sustentável, the largest sustainability festival in Latin America, with more than 50 editions in São Paulo and 13 other cities, in partnership with Pets Emotion, a company specialized in the pet segment.
Repense will be responsible for all of the Festival’s communication strategies and will also collaborate with the preparation of the sponsorship capture plan and the development of conceptual strategies for brand activation.
Pet market in Brazil
Considered the third largest market in the world – behind the United States and China – Brazil generated around R$70 billion in 2023 from the pet segment. The data is from the Institute of Applied Economic Research (Ipea) and the volume is equivalent to 4.95% of the sector’s entire global revenue. Abinpet (Brazilian Association of the Pet Products Industry) estimates that there are around 167.6 million pets in Brazil, 67.8 million dogs and 33.6 million cats.
“We realized that, in addition to large trade fairs and small events, there was no festival worthy of the name dedicated to this passionate and passionate universe, which is present in hundreds of millions of Brazilian homes”, says André Palhano, co-founder of Festival Pet together with businessman Wagner Aguado, from Pets Emotion.
For Otavio Dias, CEO of Repense, the pet market has an importance that goes far beyond numbers. “We are very honored and excited to work with a festival that, above all, represents a strong emotional bond. Pets are faithful and essential companions in the daily lives of millions of people in Brazil and around the world, with a connection that goes beyond the trade of products and services. It is a territory of pure affection, company and well-being with positive impacts that value care and love for animals”, says the CEO.
The Pet Festival program includes exhibitions, artistic installations, cinema sessions, drone shows and theater performances and lots of fun for children and adults. The festival will also feature Pet Shop Week and the “maia pet friendly do mundo” street, as well as workshops with themes such as “Rights and Duties of the Guardian”, “Natural Food for Dogs and Cats” and “Special care for elderly animals”, among others. There will also be social actions with castration efforts, food donations and adoption fairs.
