The World Surf League (WSL) announces the arrival of its new Head of Marketing and Planning, Erik Rehder. The executive worked for Vicar for eight years and was directly responsible for the Stock Car brand.
Rehder celebrates his arrival in the WSL: “Unique opportunity to work with a brand with global reach and which, mainly, is experiencing a growth phase within the Brazilian scene after the Olympics. Very excited and motivated to be part of this moment in national surfing.”
In his first week in the new position, Rehder was responsible for creating a special drum set at the Tamo Junto BB festival – which brought together sportspeople, singers and influencers and who, together, total more than 30 million followers on social media – during the Circuit Banco do Brasil Surfing in Natal (RN), stage valid for the Qualifying Series (QS) of the WSL. Rayssa Leal, Isaquias Queiroz, Bob Burnquist, Ítalo Ferreira, Filipe Toledo and L7nnon were some of the big names who were present at the initiative.
With the experience of having helped to capitalize on new clients and increase the audience of one of the main motorsport categories in Brazil, the professional is proud to have participated, in total, in 412 stages held in several cities in Latin America. Historic events, such as the first race inside an operating airport in Brazil (the GP Galeão, in RJ), the street race in BH around the Mineirão stadium and the first time of Stock Car racing in Uruguay are some of the experiences in your portfolio.
Rehder also commented on the Vivo Rio Pro stage, held in Saquarema (RJ) and considered the biggest in the world: “It’s a global championship, with important countries hosting stages, and having Brazil as the main event is something very important and grand. . For me it is something challenging and it motivates me even more. The potential is immeasurable, a lot of good things are to come”, concluded the new executive.
