Gabriela Onofre was elected Agency Leadership in the Best of propmark; she beat Márcio Santoro, from Africa Creative, and Icaro Doria, from DM9
Agency Leadership in the Best of the Year Awards propmark 2024 was for a professional who built a large part of her career in marketing for important advertisers. Gabriela Onofre, now CEO of Publicis Groupe Brasil, spent 17 years at P&G, where she became head of marketing and communications for Brazil, in addition to being senior director of global marketing at Johnson & Johnson.
At Publicis Groupe since August 2023, Gabriela Onofre has always said that her main mission is to make the group not a conglomerate of agencies, but rather to bring the strength that the company has in all aspects. It’s the ‘Power of one’, a concept that inspired the new headquarters of the Publicis group in Brazil.
Called La Maison 400, the place is the faithful translation of integration, synergy and the company’s transformation. The project encompasses agencies DPZ, Leo Burnett, LePub and Publicis Brasil, as well as strategic areas such as Arc, PXP Studios, PXP Creators, Publicis Media Group, Performics and Epsilon.
The only woman competing in the Agency Leadership category — Márcio Santoro (Africa Creative) and Icaro Doria (DM9) also competed —, Gabriela Onofre, for example, reinforced the group’s commitment to gender equality. As a result, 70% of what is considered ‘senior leadership of the Group’ is made up of women. The number includes CEOs and managing directors of agencies and business units, as well as executives in charge of areas in the “headquarters”, at the Group level.
