Held at MASP, the 7th edition of the event brought together around 700 people and awarded 14 Brazilian advertising audiovisual talents
Apro (Brazilian Association of Audiovisual Works) and FilmBrazil announced the winners of the Whext Awards 2024, during the closing ceremony of the 7th edition of the festival, held on the 2nd, at MASP.
Promoted by APRO through its international platform FilmBrazil, the award, dedicated to audiovisual advertising production, recognized 14 professionals and paid tribute with the presentation of the “Contribution to the Market” award to the family of Mércia Lima, executive producer and founding partner from Film Planet. Two icons of the Advertising Industry were also honored: Jacques Lewkowicz and Washington Olivetto.
The event was led by Marianna Souza, executive president of APRO and curator of WHEXT, ‘Reaching the 7th edition of the event and holding it in one of the most iconic spots in São Paulo is very gratifying. Seeing the audience engaged with the program and sharing the joy of the winners is what motivates us to go further, looking for new things every year. WHEXT became this platform for bringing together professionals engaged with audiovisual in order to reflect on the future of the market. Promoting this meeting for the first time in the largest museum in Latin America fills us with pride, I managed to bring our craft closer to the Universe of Arts and is undoubtedly a recovery of the essence of Craft. There is nothing more inspiring,” said the executive.

Throughout the day, the event had around 700 participants, who divided themselves between the program activities. The festival held 3 workshops and 7 panels. The awards ceremony opened with a pocket show by Larissa Luz.
