The NBA launched its new Christmas campaign, “Jingle Hoops Regifted”an animated remix of the famous commercial “Jingle Hoops” 2013. The campaign is now running on the league’s social media channels and on the official NBA app, featuring a cast of stars reimagined as action figures.
The animation recreates the iconic scene of five players shooting three-pointers to the sound of “Jingle Bells”but with new elements and characters. The cast includes three stars from the original ad — Stephen Curry (Golden State Warriors), Kevin Durant (Phoenix Suns) e LeBron James (Los Angeles Lakers) —, now accompanied by Luka Dončić (Dallas Mavericks) e Jayson Tatum (Boston Celtics).
The plot changes when other players, such as Victor Wembanyama (San Antonio Spurs) e Nikola Jokic (Denver Nuggets), enter to change the melody and cause fun chaos, commented on by figurines of Malika Andrewsfrom ESPN, and a bobblehead from Mike Breenda NBA na ABC.
Produced in partnership with Translation and directed by Dave Scanlon, the campaign combines live action and animation from Passion Pictures. In addition to the main 30-second commercial, the NBA will launch shorter 10-second vignettes, expanding the action to digital media, out-of-home and social platforms.
