Action was developed by the agency Mirum
Users who went to Google on Tuesday to search for Champions League games in anticipation of watching a match live and for free were in for a surprise. Instead, they found a pirate game, in which all elements – from players to narrators – were nothing more than an imitation.
Called ‘Pirate Match’, the action is signed by Directv Go and the Mirum agency. The idea, in addition to drawing attention to the number of pirated TVs in the country, was a way for the brand to transform consumers of irregular content into customers.
“We are live TV and streaming in a single application, for a really attractive price. And the main thing: a 100% regularized service. That’s why we developed this action to show that there are viable ways to get access to quality content, without stopping, no risk, no bad image, all without infringing on third-party rights,” said Alexander Rocco, director of digital growth at Directv Go.
Filipe Matiazi, creative director of Mirum, explains that the initiative wants to warn about irregular practice, in addition to praising the quality of the brand’s services. “We created an action to alert about the irregular practice of piracy and to communicate that, through Directv Go, the user will have quality, lawful and smooth transmissions. Soon, you will be able to watch your game without worrying about it, without hunting for links”.
