Australian-themed restaurant Outback Steakhouse and deep innovation startup Deboo have teamed up to once again plant the flag in the pop culture universe. On Saturday, March 19, at 7:30 pm, the brands perform the very first Brazilian wedding at Metaverso. The historic and pioneering act is another step towards expanding participation in the segment and a new opportunity to dialogue with potential younger consumers.
The newlyweds, Rita Wu and Andre Mertens, passionate about technology, rethought the format of their wedding so that they could express their union in a totally innovative way. In this way, the virtual wedding will take place at Decentraland, one of the biggest and most recognized metaverses today. The avatars will be transported to a party that will feature DJ Patrick Torquato, special activations and will be able to interact with the bride and groom and other guests.
Cristiane Berna, Trade Marketing Manager at Outback Brasil commented a little about the event:
“This is another way of connecting with the community, also providing the Outback experience in their second lives, interconnecting with the real experience and, thus, always keeping us closer to our audience”.
The ceremony will be performed by historian Leandro Karnal and the bride and groom and the union will be validated via Smart Contract. A donut-shaped digital alliance was created and will be backed by real diamonds via Token. In addition, a collection of 1,000 NFTs will be distributed on the event’s website – via digital wallet – in addition to a special series of NFTs for sponsors.
Outback, which has been increasingly approaching the universe of pop culture and e-Sports with participation in BGS and CCXP and recently announced the opening of its first restaurant in Metaverso, is one of the sponsors of the event and, in addition to supporting the holding the wedding, will present all the guests and the bride and groom with gift cards that can be used in their real-world restaurants.
The brand will also carry out special actions for all game participants who show up to accompany the wedding. In addition to a QR code for your delivery and for your Digital Wait, the restaurant chain will provide a special QR Code that will give a Bloomin’ Onion, the brand’s famous giant onion, as a gift to everyone who scans. The voucher can be used at any Outback restaurant in Brazil to buy an appetizer or main course.
According to Léo Brazão, Co-Founder and partner of Deboo:
“The digital economy is already a reality. And, although there is very little or no consensus on what the metaverse really is, in the coming years we will see more and more technological interactions in our lives, which will help us access ‘other’ universes in a more organic and intuitive way. And activations like this in the first Brazilian marriage in the metaverse show that with creativity for innovation and availability of technology it is possible to bring brands closer to this context of the possible future, through new business models connected to their values and the delivery of real financial results”.
