For the inaugural Shift Studio, Disney challenged “Shifters” to engage an aspirational audience of young, diverse and socially conscious consumers with National Geographic. Working as a team, participants were tasked with developing a creative idea to engage with Gen Z, structuring a 12-month plan.
Winners Colby Pelfrey, Ebika Pinneh and Jael Umerah-Makelemi created ‘Unbox Your World’ to encourage more accessible exploration for Gen Z, using “phygital” tools, and propel a new wave of people who have the power to capture their worlds.
D&AD Shift with Google, launched six years ago, seeks to discover and secure jobs for diverse creative talents who are self-employed and uneducated. The program has schools in London, New York and Sydney.
