According to the platform, the change will take place from this Wednesday (23) gradually.
Starting this Wednesday (23), Instagram will make available three new ways to view the feed, a feature that was discontinued by the platform in 2016. According to Instagram, the changes will happen gradually, and will be available for both iOS as for Android.
In the Following option, the user will only see the publications of the people they are following – detail: in chronological order –, without interference from the algorithms.
In Home, little will change from what it was. Favorites, the third option, will also offer a feed in chronological order, however, with content from people that the user marks as favorites.

In the announcement, the social network stated that the idea of the change is to give more autonomy to the user. “On average, people see more than 90% of their friends’ posts in an algorithmically ranked feed. That number was less than half with a chronological feed. And because people are more engaged in a ranked feed, a post is seen by 50% more followers than with the chronological feed”.
