The action integrates the sustainability and culture platform and is supported by the pillars: greener cities, circular economy and responsible consumption
Heineken is expanding its green energy distributed generation project. Started in 2021, with partner bars and restaurants, the initiative enters a new phase and begins to include individuals, who can have discounts of up to 20% on their energy bills.
The action integrates the brand’s sustainability and culture platform, “Green your city”, which is supported by three pillars: greener cities, circular economy and responsible consumption. With the new step, the brand wants to go beyond awareness initiatives and generate direct discounts on the energy bill that can reach 20% of consumption, depending on the region.
“Distributed generation is already a reality in Europe and the United States, where consumers have the option of choosing sustainable ways of supplying energy. Here in Brazil, the format is consolidating and that’s why we are happy to be able, together with partners, to actively act as a facilitator of this pioneering movement”, says Gabriel D’Angelo Braz, marketing director for the Heineken brand in Brazil.
How to integrate the program
To participate in the project, people need to prove that they have an average monthly amount of at least R$200.00 on their energy bill and register on the platform. https://www.heinekenenergiaverde.com.br/with CNH or RG/CPF of the holder and copy or photo of the energy bill.
According to the brand, participation is free and does not require the payment of fees, installation or loyalty. After joining, the estimated period for the conversion and supply of green energy is up to 120 days.
Currently, the project is developed in partnership with regional certified renewable energy generators and the availability of the service has been gradually implemented. Residents of states such as Minas Gerais, Goiás, Paraná, Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Sul, Federal District and São Paulo (CPFL Paulista) can now apply for membership.
The service is expected to be available in all other states by the end of the first half of 2023. In any case, residents of these regions can pre-register at www.heinekenenergiaverde.com.br and follow the arrival process in their cities.
