The video platform made two tools available to all users in Brazil
YouTube has created two new ways to display health information that is reliable and relevant to Brazilians as part of efforts to prevent misinformation and harm to users’ health.
The first feature is the health content section, displayed at the top of the results page. The area highlights videos from trusted sources and more effectively when users search for specific topics. The second is a kind of seal, displayed just below the title of each video, crediting the source of the information, as a way of helping viewers to identify reliable sources.
“With these new tools, the YouTube community can find content from trusted sources more easily, and still make sure that this source of information is highlighted as it meets criteria validated by the World Health Organization,” said Clarissa Orberg, head of content partnerships for children’s health, education and entertainment on YouTube and also responsible for YouTube Kids in Brazil.
