On April 2, Cimed&Co, the third largest Brazilian pharmaceutical company in terms of sales volume, will receive around seven thousand people at the Ginásio do Ibirapuera for the first proprietary event of the pharmaceutical company on entrepreneurship and sales: the Fly Now – My Yellow Blood. The Cimed meeting aims to share the company’s innovative management model, which made Cimed jump from 36th to 3rd place in the segment’s sales volume ranking in ten years. “Meu Sangue Amarelo” is a reference to the book that will be released during the event and which tells the story of João Adibe Marques, president of the company.
Cimed’s management model began to be developed 45 years ago by its founders — João de Castro Marques and his wife, Cláudia Marques — based on the company’s values and culture. It was improved by the sons João Adibe Marques and Karla Marques Felmanas, currently president and vice-president of Cimed, respectively.
“The strategy that guides Cimed is the result of the company’s evolution. Karla and I learned from our parents to always look for the new and look to the future without forgetting the present. This mentality grew and solidified, and in this way the strategy gained shape and strength, having innovation and disruption as its pillars”, explains João Adibe Marques.
During the entire program of Fly Now – My Yellow Blood, which has nine uninterrupted hours of content, topics will be discussed regarding the company’s management model, its sales strategy, family succession, vertical leadership, financial management, among others. To expand the debates, the event will also have guest speakers, such as the coaches of the Brazilian soccer and volleyball teams, Tite and Renan Dal Zotto, and the entrepreneurs Alfredo Soares, Bruno Nardon, Tallis Gomes, Álvaro Schocair, Kondzilla and others.
In addition to all the content focused on management and business, there will also be panels on innovation for the future — such as space scientific research — and on entrepreneurship and female empowerment, the latter led by Karla Felmanas, vice president of Cimed. Bianca Andrade (Boca Rosa), Larissa Manoela, Simaria, Isabele Temoteo and Thelma Assis will also be present at the event.
Book my yellow blood
During the event, João Adibe Marques will also launch my yellow blood, a book that will soon hit stores through the publisher Agir. In addition to marking the author’s 50th birthday – celebrated in February of this year –, the volume also provides details of his trajectory at the forefront of the company and the fundamentals of the management model that brought the company so much success.
In an honest text, João talks about the passionate profession of salesman and tells how he became one of the greatest executives in the country. But he goes further: he shares with the audience the lessons he’s learned along the way, offering tips to keep his mind sharp and productive. “I grew up hearing from my father that any adversity is an opportunity to learn and evolve, to grow and do differently. I learned, then, that if there is a crisis, I must analyze the circumstances, identify my abilities to face it and act”, says the businessman.
As he takes stock of his life, he also recalls episodes that put his certainties and choices to the test. Curiosities about Cimed’s success stories permeate the publication, which also shows how the culture of sports is present in the daily life of the author and the company.
During the event, it will be possible to purchase the book exclusively, as it will not yet be available for sale on the market.
