One of the biggest pop divas in the world, the British Jessie J, is confirmed as headliner on the Sunset stage at Rock in Rio for the 8th of September. Replacing singer Joss Stone, who will not be able to attend due to personal reasons, Jessie J is back at the biggest music and entertainment festival in the world as the headliner of the Sunset Stage on September 8th. With an unconventional musical style and a sound that combines soul, R&B, pop and hip hop, Jessie J performs on the day inspired by “Divine Feminine”, with Corinne Bailey Rae, Gloria Groove and Duda Beat.
With stunning vocals, unbridled soul, confessional lyrics and empowering attitude, multi-platinum, BRIT Award-winning and GRAMMY-nominated artist Jessie J touches hearts every time she sings. With over 1.5 billion accumulated streams, countless gold and platinum certifications, and 23 million records sold to date, her voice continues to ring in almost every corner of the world. In 2011, she conquered a place on the world stage with her debut “Who You Are”. Not only did Jessie go platinum, she also entered the Top 15 of the Billboard Top 200. “Price Tag” took the number one spot in 18 countries and eventually went quadruple platinum.
The double platinum record “Domino” followed closely behind. Numerous accolades followed with the prestigious BRIT Award in the “Critic’s Choice” category, the BBC’s “Sound of 2011” award and an invitation to be an ambassador for the London 2012 Olympic Games. In 2014, it exploded when “Bang Bang” with Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj, dominated the charts and went platinum certified six times. Meanwhile, her third album, “Sweet Talker,” took the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 200.
In 2018, working like never before, she created epic work in the form of ROSE [Realizações, Obsessões, Sexo e Empoderamento]. Released in four parts throughout the year, it brought this confessional oeuvre to the masses with sold-out shows everywhere. At the same time, she ended the year with her first Christmas album, This Christmas Day.
After releasing the track “Brave”, in 2019, in a partnership with DJ Don Diablo, the year she also performed at Rock in Rio, in Brazil, the artist went on a hiatus of about two years without releasing new works. Last year, the singer announced her return to the music industry with the single “I Want Love” produced in partnership with Ryan Tedder, lead singer of the band OneRepublic.
