A request from many Twitter users is finally going to be answered after more than a decade of the social network in activity. Publications made on the network, the so-called tweets, will have the option to be edited after the post goes live. The decision was announced last Tuesday, April 5th.
Still, the company did not set a date for the function to be made available to all users, only informed that it will arrive soon. Some users have the option already available to carry out tests and fix problems before it arrives on the network in a complete way.
The main requests for the tool to be available among Twitter users is so that they can edit their posts without having to delete them and send them with the desired corrections. Still, some criticize the change for allowing posts to be edited to alter the original meaning of what was said.
Some users even commented on the future new function of Twitter:
The former CEO of the network had positioned himself against the possibility of editing tweets. However, everything seems to have changed after the change in management of the company, when Parag Agrawal took over. On April 1st, a publication was made by the official account of the network talking about the new tool, but because of the date, users did not know if it was real information or a prank.
It is worth mentioning that, as we previously reported, Elon Musk acquired a significant part of the social media company and will now be part of the board of directors of Twitter. The billionaire’s first relevant tweet after making the acquisition was talking about the need for an edit button on the web.
