A survey carried out by the social network also showed that people spend 22% more minutes on Twitter compared to competitors
More than half of people (54%) who use Twitter said they are interested in the Campeonato Brasileiro, which will start next weekend. According to a survey carried out by the platform’s own team, people spend 22% more minutes on Twitter than competitors during major live events, such as football games.
In 2021 alone, according to the platform, there were 298 million tweets about football in Brazil, an increase of 21% over the previous year. The term ‘Brasileirão’, also last year, recorded 32 million messages on the social network.
The survey also showed that 84% of people who use Twitter say the platform has the most up-to-date comments and highlights about events happening, and 82% feel that Twitter keeps them connected to events they are passionate about.
“As video is the favorite language of fans, who viewed 2.3 billion videos related to football championships in 2021, one of the solutions that Twitter has bet on is Amplify, which associates the advertising brand with the profiles that have the official broadcasting rights for the championships”, explains Vinícius Magalhães, content sales manager at Twitter Brasil.
