The survey revealed that 92% of Brazilians watch video ads that appear in games
Justmob, a business unit of Cisneros Interactive, launched a study on Mobile Games, in partnership with On Devide Research, which found that more than half of Brazilians play games every day.
The survey was carried out during the month of January 2022 in Brazil and in 5 other Latin American countries.
According to the data, 63% of Brazilians play daily via Smartphone and 25% play several times a week. In addition, 76% of respondents play games at least 3 times a day and 61% spend at least 40 minutes a day playing games.
The survey pointed out that Smartphone is the most used way to play games, with 73%.
According to the study, the social isolation caused by the coronavirus pandemic made people spend more time playing games, with 78% of Brazilians confirming the information. Of that number, 3 in 5 (65%) intend to continue playing the same amount post-pandemic.
“The consumption of games, which had already been growing over the years, had a great acceleration because of social isolation, which caused a certain limitation in the forms of entertainment at home, which made the cell phone a great companion for leisure” , said Gonzalo Borras, General Director of Audio & Mobile.
Research has shown that currently 3 in 4 people have between 1 and 6 games installed on their Smartphone and the data revealed that 1 in 2 respondents download games weekly.
According to the study, action, sports, adventure and strategy games are the favorites of the Brazilian audience, while Candy Crush is the most played game, along with PUBG.
In addition, the survey revealed that 91% of Brazilians feel happy while playing and 88% consider mobile games as a way to socialize.
According to Justmob, more than half of respondents not only play games, but also make in-app purchases while playing, with this activity increasing for users aged between 25 and 34 (64%).
“The Mobile Game is an environment conducive to advertising. First, because it is free from fake news, secondly, because the people who consume it, do it for the sake of entertainment, in moments of relaxation and happiness, and finally, because the ads in games generate a real benefit for players who win virtual items. in exchange for your attention”, explained Rodrigo Tigre, Country Manager of Cisneros Interactive in Brazil.
For Brazilian gamers, ads have become a key part of the game experience and 92% said they watch video ads to get extra lives or in-game content.
