Fans of games, eSports and pop-geek culture will have the chance to reconnect with the events of the genre in the Bahian capital from BEYONDEXPO, which will take place this weekend (16th and 17th) at the hands of the startup BDS – BEYOND DIGITAL SPORTS, in coordination with the City Hall and with the support of the Salvador Convention Center.
The event has prestige from brands such as Warner, Redragon, Saga and Voltz. They will make activations to entertain about 1,000 people expected at the venue and more than 10,000 who will be able to watch more than 20 hours of live content transmitted via streaming.
Tickets, worth R$ 40 (half-price for R$ 20) can still be purchased on the website beyondverso.com.br. Attentive to general needs, BDS also offers the “social ticket”, R$30 + 1kg of non-perishable food. During the two days of events, the donations collected will be donated to philanthropic institutions in the city.
Gamer influencer Lukas LKZ Walter, 24, founder of BDS, highlights:
“After a hiatus of almost three years, due to the pandemic, the Salvadoran community is once again meeting with face-to-face events from the gaming world. For BDS, born in Salvador, there is no greater joy than restarting its journey of events open to the public in their own home. Our operation will gear up many actions in 2022, including the opening of the BDS Academy Salvador and the holding of dozens of digital and in-person, competitive and entertainment events.”
Ludovic Moullin, director general of the Salvador Convention Center, notes:
“The Salvador Convention Center supports initiatives such as Beyond Expo as it is a fair with great potential. The gamer segment, which today is mainly focused on leisure, will tomorrow have an important weight in the economy, with emphasis on new technologies and innovation, with the generation of jobs”.
Event: Among the attractions of the program, BEYONDEXPO will have the participation of influencers and industry professionals such as Daniele Cherna (Bahia athlete of the INTZ team and founder of Associação Feminina Gaming do Brasil), Ana Antar (Bahia and national producer of WGB – Women Gaming Brazil, game development event focused on cis/trans women and non-binary people), Gabriel “Kami” Bohm (ex-pro player, two-time Brazilian LOL champion and current streamer at paiN Gaming), Arthur Ribas (official presenter of Warner Play ) and Chico Tattini (commercial head of Rensga, a franchise from Goiás that competes in the CBLOL).
Special guests will discuss topics such as the competitive level of eSports in the country, challenges of diversity in the gamer scene, gameplay of recently released games, games as the first great test of the advertising metaverse, relationship between parents and children, technological innovations in the gamer market, among others.
First event for this audience profile held in Salvador since December 2019, when Anipólitan took place, focused on comic book and anime culture, BEYONDEXPO will provide experiences on the technology ecosystem, electronic games, films, series, comics and animations in a structure of 2,400m2.
The schedule includes activities such as console, mobile and computer freeplays (Just Dance, LOL, Valorant, Free Fire, CS-GO, Fifa, Lords Mobile, Mortal Kombat, etc.); interactive scenarios; booths with activations from publishers and non-endemic brands; parade of cosplayers of consecrated characters; interviews, podcasts and talks on Beyond Deck; musical attraction on the Big Bang Stage with 360º viewing; at Espaço Vip, BDS influencers will interact with the public and guests; exclusive spaces for children and board games.
