Created in partnership with FCB Brasil, the #VozPreta project wants to occupy spaces on Twitter and present references in the most varied subjects and areas of knowledge
Revista Raça is launching #VozPreta, a project that aims to present black references in the most varied subjects and areas of knowledge. The action is also a counterpoint to the structural racism that insists on erasing and silencing black history and personalities.
Created in partnership with FCB Brasil and developed by FCB Studio, the feature was implemented on Twitter. As the network user uses, on average, only 33 characters, the action proposes to, literally, occupy these spaces with black references.
When the user starts writing a tweet, #VozPreta identifies the subject and indicates a personality within the theme for the unused characters. People can access the tool through the website https://www.vozpreta.com.br/ or by downloading the Chrome extension, which allows you to use it directly from Twitter.
“Racism operates with the devaluation of black narratives, stories that permeate the political, social and cultural construction in the country, preventing them from being accessed equally. It’s not for lack of references that this happens, it’s for lack of space in public opinion”, says Maurício Pestana, CEO of Revista Raça.
To generate the content, the solution uses the database of material published by the magazine over the last 25 years and is constantly updated. In addition, it allows anyone from the black community to add new suggestions. The tool went live on April 4, the date marked by the death of leader Martin Luther King.
