Verse announced in partnership with StartSe, NFT LATAM, the first NFT conference in Latin America. For such an important event, Diego Ortiz, CEO of Verse and co-founder of Chili, spoke a little about the event and how he sees the future of the digital environment with the inclusion of concepts such as NFTs and the metaverse.
Check out our interview with Diego Ortiz:
AdNews: How does Verse see the growth of NFTs for Web 3.0 development?
Diego Ortiz: NFTs are easy to adopt, and when provided with practical and real utility, they can be an excellent way for people to adopt products and services, create communities around brands, influencers and projects, and accelerate the adoption of blockchain technology.
AD: Could more events like this come up in the future?
DO: Absolutely! NFT LATAM 2.0 is already being programmed, and it will be the biggest in the world – if all goes well (laughs). This initial event serves to test the terrain of the region, as well as to show that we have a lot of qualified workforce to join everything new that Web3 brings.
AD: Does Verse see the Metaverse as the most important element in the future of Web 3.0?
DO: It is difficult to place something as the most important element, since the main advantage in Web3 is that everything is interconnected by the blockchain. So it is difficult to isolate these technologies because they are interdependent. An example is how someone today can acquire an NFT, use it in the metaverse as a digital asset, and also claim it in the real physical world – like a product, sneakers, etc.
AD: What is the next step for technology after the arrival of NFTs to the internet?
DO: Mass adoption and the understanding that NFTs are not pixelated images, but a technology with infinite applicability coming from the blockchain. The truth is that we have only scratched the surface of this new world. At the moment, any general reading of the scenario would be reductionist.
