A Barbie doll of Queen Elizabeth II, from the United Kingdom, was launched by the American company Mattel on Wednesday (20) as a tribute to the 70 years of the monarch’s reign. Named Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee, the toy was created by designer Robert Best.
“Barbie celebrates the longest-running monarch in British history, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, whose extraordinary reign led her to an immeasurable devotion to duty and a life of service. Reaching 70 years of service, Queen Elizabeth II becomes the first British monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee. This collectible doll wears an elegant ivory dress and blue headband adorned with order decorations. A dazzling crown and matching accessories complete her royal ensemble.”
The toy, sold for US$ 75.00 (R$ 342.04) appears as sold out on the website. The queen completed 70 years of reign on February 6 this year. This Thursday (21), the monarch completes 96 years of life and, to mark her birthday, the Royal Windsor Horse Show posted a picture of her alongside two white ponies, reflecting his lifelong interest in horses.
