The presentation, which will unite music, climate justice and audiovisual on a single stage, will offer an immersion and awareness experience. On the panel, the powerful voices of Célia and Mapu represent indigenous culture and their worldview.
Alok has been designing his trajectory with the indigenous cause in music, but also outside of it. The artist’s quest to understand the past and the millenary knowledge of native peoples was recently recorded by Maria Farinha FIlmes, a leading producer of impact entertainment in Latin America. Through a musical encounter with Célia Xakriabá and other indigenous leaders, Alok realizes how ancestral technology in its connection with nature is the only way for all humanity to reach a sustainable future. The production shows the union between the songs of the Yawanawa, Kariri-Xocó, Huni Kuin and Guarani peoples, the new Alok compositions and the indigenous struggle for climate and social justice.
At Rio2C, Célia, Mapu, Alok and Nisti will present an unprecedented excerpt from this production.
The conversation that will take over the Global Stage will be part of a dialogue that inspires to expand our views both on Brazil’s history and on the country’s future and its potential to contribute to climate justice across the planet.
