The Best Commercial in Brazil of 2021 has a name: “Alice and Fernanda”. The creation of the Africa Agency for the bank Itau, which brought Alice alongside actress Fernanda Montenegro, was recognized, this Tuesday (Apr 26), as the best advertisement on SBT’s screen in the last year. The film was produced by Boiler Films.
The commercial won ten other finalists in the best film category at the 11th edition of the awards. And it gave Africa recognition for the second year in a row. Last year, the agency took the award for “Esperança”, a commercial also made for Itaú.
The commercial choice won a vote carried out by a select market jury in São Paulo – composed of 20 important professionals from the main agencies in the country. In addition to the recognition, the winning agency and advertiser were awarded a trip to the Cannes Festival of Creativity in France.
The recognition and initiative comes with the proposal to foster Brazilian creativity. “SBT has always believed and bet on the power of great ideas, and we are very proud to see that, every year, the most commented and impactful films in our country’s advertising are shown on our screens”, reports the Director of Business and Marketing at SBT, Fred Müller.

The awards event was in person, unlike the other two years, in which the ceremony was 100% virtual due to the pandemic. The award ceremony was conducted by Nadja Haddad, presenter of the confectionery program Bake Off Brasil, on SBT. The main executives of the broadcaster and journalists.
The shortlist with the top ten commercials was revealed first hand during the event. The creations are from seven brands: Elo, Itaú and O Boticário, with two films nominated for each. Amstel, Bradesco, Mc Donald’s and Vivo also made it to the final, with a commercial.
