Fortnite’s v20.20 update is bringing a slew of changes to players, and from April 22nd to May 2nd, The Origin will have Covert Ops Quests available to anyone willing to take on them. The reward? The Secret Sledge Pickaxe, a free cosmetic harvesting tool to use in the game. There will be a total of four missions, with each mission lasting two or four days.
Fortnite players will also need to have completed the previous mission before they can start the next mission, so since each mission is only available for a limited time, make sure you clear each Covert Ops mission before the time expires. The dates and times for each mission are as follows:
Quest 1 will begin on April 22 at 9:00 am ET and end on April 26 at 8:59 am ET
- Goals:Stage 1: Establish a Device Uplink at Zero Build (Logjam, Sleepy Sound, Tilted Towers, Sanctuary, Greasy Grove, Condo Canyon) Stage 2: Eliminate Players at Zero Build (10) – 30,000 XP (To help complete this quest, a guide is available here.)
Quest 2 will start on April 26 at 9:00 am ET and end on April 28 at 8:59 am ET
- Goals:Stage 1: Establish a device uplink at Zero Build (IO Outposts) Stage 2: Collect compromised information from IO Outposts at Zero Build (1) Reward: 30,000 XP
Quest 3 will start on April 28 at 9:00 am ET and end on April 30 at 8:59 am ET
- goals: Stage 1: Establish a Device Uplink at Zero Build (Leaning Towers, Daily Bugle, Rocky Reels, Condo Canyon, Coney Crossroads) Stage 2: Destroy structures with a tank at Zero Build (300) – 30,000 XP
Mission 4 will begin on April 30 at 9:00 am ET and end on May 2 at 8:59 am ET
- Goals:Stage 1: Establish a Device Uplink at Zero Build (Tilted Towers, Rocky Reels, Command Cavern, The Fortress) Stage 2: Plant timed explosives on an IO airship, Command Cavern or the Fortress at Zero Build (1) – 30,000 XP+ Secret sled pickaxe
Upon completion of the Covert Ops questline, players will receive a token that will allow access to the next Covert Ops quest when it is time to unlock the quest. iFireMonkey also shared a preview of what the Secret Sledge, which, in what should come as no surprise to anyone, is a big sledgehammer. It has red, yellow, orange, brown and black accents on the hammer’s head with a long black handle.
Each mission will remain active in Fortnite until the minute the next one starts, so if you only need to complete one last objective and it’s 8am ET, you still have 59 minutes to finish the mission and qualify for the next one.
