Just the day I posted the review of against the ice, from Netflix, comes another news about Nikolaj Coster-Waldau . He will be partnering with Jennifer Garner in the new Apple TV limited series, The Last Thing He Told Me. There’s a couple that I like. I will definitely want to see the miniseries.
It will be based on the book by Laura Dave. Here in Brazil, the book will be released in June by Intrinseca, with the title of The last thing he told me. It unites mystery and family drama. In the story, Owen Michaels (Nikolaj) leaves his wife Hannah (Garner) a message before she disappears. “Protect her”. Despite her confusion and fear, Hannah knows this refers to Bailey, her sixteen-year-old stepdaughter. She tragically lost her mother and would like to be able to completely ignore her new stepmother.
Before long, the situation is completely out of Hannah’s control. Owen doesn’t answer his increasingly desperate calls. The FBI arrests his boss. Federal agents appear at her door, causing her to question not only why her husband has disappeared, but who he really is. As much as she wants to respect that last request, Hannah needs answers. And maybe the stepdaughter is the key to all of them. That’s when the two set out together in search of the truth.
The stepdaughter is made by Angourie Rice, the cutie of Two Nice Guys. She was also in the movies Spider man (that girlfriend of Ned), and in the series Mare of Easttown (Mare’s daughter). Just good people together. The series is produced by Jennifer Garner and also by Reese Witherspoon’s company, Hello Sunshine. There is no scheduled premiere date yet.
