The Farol Santander Loft, one of the postcards of the city of São Paulo, was the stage for the great celebration of the PlaYlist By Ballantine’s, marking the last chapter of this year’s trilogy, which united Game, Music and Creativity – pillars of this innovative project conceived by the SehLoiro Group, from Felipe “YoDa”. At the end of the celebration, the PlaYlist Festival 2022 was announced.
Gamer and businessman Felipe “YoDa” Noronha, CEO of the SehLoiro Group and creator and presenter of the project, gave details of the event that promises to be a milestone for the scenario: the biggest festival in the country bringing together game and music. The PlaYlist Festival will be in person for more than five thousand people in October, giving the face of the next season that is to come in 2022.
“It’s been years of work to be able to get here, to get a project that is an old dream off the ground. We now want to put it into practice in person. 2021 was already a great year in which we were able to bring the chapters to the public online. Now, the time has come to also have this physical contact with the community. We were born on digital platforms and now we will also be physicists. We are the old, but we are also the future. It will be a milestone,” said YoDa.
Celebration with shows, talks and lots of content
Along with YoDa, narrator Schaeppi and rapper Bob13 presented the event on the 28th. Twitch, the night at Farol Santander featured very strong musical performances, such as DJ Freakout, the rap group Haikaiss, musician Fábio Brazza, MC Levinsk and MC WinniT.
The event also featured a Talk reliving all PlaYlist episodes and a chat with a Riot representative, who analyzed the game’s scenario combined with music and entertainment and gave spoilers to some of the company’s projects.
To close the celebration, the more than special participation of rapper, composer and writer Gabriel, o Pensador. One of the main icons of the music scene in Brazil, he stirred up the chat with several career successes and a lot of interaction with the crowd.
“It’s really cool to be able to participate in an event like this, with such good people. Being here was excellent for dialoguing with the cameras, for example, having this interaction with people online. Music has the function of bringing joy in this very difficult period we live in”, said Gabriel, O Pensador.
“Seeing the game, as well as the music, as a life-changing instrument is really cool. Many people grow and change their lives through these two worlds”, he added.
PlaYlist in 2021
In August, at the opening of PlaYlist By Ballantine’s in 2021, 16 MC’s performed in the Battle of Rap – Final Tournament: The Crown Conquest, in more than 15 battles and 5 hours of event. The disputes took place on the Skate track at Farol Santander, a historic spot in the city of São Paulo. The event had a peak audience of 45 thousand and 357,000 unique viewers in the broadcast – made via YoDa and PlaYlist channels on Twitch.
The second chapter took place in October, on the 24th. The perfect symbiosis between Game & Music took hold of Teatro Oficina – São Paulo’s cultural cradle – in the long-awaited PlaYlist X2. In almost 10 hours of transmission via Twitch, the event had great hype on the internet and saw the duo formed by Duds and DJ Zanon become champions. The audience peaked at 72,000 people, 541,000 unique viewers and 275,000 chat messages. PlaYlist X2 still occupied the top positions of Twitter’s trending topics overnight.
