This May, Doctor Strange returned to the screens causing many questions about future productions and Marvel premieres. What is to come? Maybe some tips and easter eggs can help clear our minds.
What If (Marvel’s own animated series)
Despite the series being highly recommended to be watched before seeing the premiere of Strange’s movie, in the movie, there is only a small passage through this universe.
Classic Pose
Anyone who is a Marvel fan already knows that, in all their productions, the knee-fist pose is always present. It’s that landing of the heroes, where, as the name suggests, the heroes land using one of their knees and one of their fists. Classic, right? And for those who thought this would be left out… thought it was wrong. This time, the pose was performed by América Chavez.
Water in wine… is it?
While this reference itself is not directly related to Marvel, at the beginning of the film, the Doctor turns water into wine. This unintentionally harks back to some ancient history… no?
Danny Elfman
Danny was the composer responsible for the film’s soundtrack. He also composed the soundtrack for the first Spider-Man movie, released in 2002. This in itself is already a great reference, but to fully understand what this is all about, just watch the movie.
incursion
In Secret Wars (a kind of MCU reboot), in the 2015 edition, something that compromises two universes due to a paradoxical anomaly is mentioned. Those who had already read this masterpiece probably knew that this was the Incursion, a term widely used in the scenes of the film.
Fingertips… rotting?
Okay, rotting is a way of speaking. But anyone who has watched the series Wanda Vision, from the Disney Plus streaming platform, should already be more aware of what is the dark magic, which is linked to evil power and everything that is not good. In the series, Agatha Harkness, witch and teacher of Wanda uses this magic and it is possible to notice that, when this happens, her fingertips get darker. The same thing happens with Scarlet Witch (Wanda Maximoff) in the recently released film.
These are just some of the Doctor Strange references in the Multiverse of Madness, but those who watched it (and whoever will watch it, because this production is a must) will notice other easter eggs! This time, for a change, the Marvel owner did a great job.
