A summary of everything that happened in the broadcast that directed its focus to the Nintendo Switch.
The last Nintendo Indie Worldgaming-focused broadcast indies for the Switch took place on Wednesday, May 11th. It flowed for just over 20 minutes and was filled with a huge number of games, several recently revealed. Without such innovative and revolutionary titles, several of these games seem to be interesting, and some were even released by surprise today. The games shown during the event are as follows:
Ooblets
The adorable farm life simulator is coming to Nintendo Switch, following its early access release on PC and Xbox platforms. You will be able to plant, explore and participate in dance battles around the peaceful idyllic town.
Batora: Lost Haven
We took a look at Batora: Lost Haven, a previously announced cross-platform action RPG, described as being “deeply story-based”. Your choices and morality seem to be a big focus of the game, which features hack-and-slash gameplay and double-shooter segments.
ElecHead
Previously released on PC, it is a platform puzzle 2D, where you’ll navigate through a sort of power plant or warehouse, restoring electricity along the way. You’ll have access to electrical power and the ability to unhook your head to cross gaps, though you’ll need to reconnect within 10 seconds to avoid dying.
wildfrost
A new tactical deck builder roguelike, a genre that has become increasingly popular in recent years. Wildfrost tries to stand out with a counter system that seems to aim to make combat more dynamic, as well as the ability to expand a core city to continue unlocking more cards and stories throughout the game.
Totally Accurate Battle Simulator (TABS)
The TABS ragdoll physics fighting game lets you fight “fully accurate” battles with characters from history and fantasy. You can fight as a samurai, knight or caveman, or just make your own units.
Gunbrella
Gunbrella is the new game from the creators of Gato Roboto, the beloved cat action game that uses a mechanical suit. So, this is a 2D sidescrolling action platformer, which is described as being a “punk action adventure”. A bit reminiscent of Katana Zero, as you embark on a quest in a world that is rapidly losing its resources. The titular Gunbrella is used for a variety of things, including shooting, running, swinging, and gliding. It will be released in 2023.
We Are OFK
The deep narrative game We Are OFK will have new episodes being released every week. It follows real-life indie band OFK in Los Angeles as the band discuss lyrics and release an album.
Silt
Silt is a visually stunning game, featuring all hand-drawn black and white art, giving it a Limbo or Inside style feel that also extends to the gameplay. It was made by a research scientist and an artist, and you will be able to own and harness the power of sea creatures in this puzzle adventure game. It will be released in June 2022.
Mini Motorways – Available today
The smash hit Mini Motorways is coming to Nintendo Switch today. In the sequel to the subway planning game Mini Metro (which was previously ported to Switch), you’ll build highways and roundabouts to help direct the flow of city traffic between residential and commercial areas, and feature areas inspired by real cities from around the world. the world to introduce new gameplay twists.
Wayward Strand
Wayward Strand is set in the alternate history of 1970s rural Australia aboard an aircraft hospital. The stories he tells unfold in real-time, which means you’ll need to choose which one you want to follow – it will take several plays to go back and see it all. A notebook is used to keep track of what happens and unlock more stories, and you’ll be able to solve mysteries as you walk around the ship. Unlike almost everything we saw during the stream, Wayward Strand has a precise release date: July 21, 2022.
Cult of the Lamb
Farming simulator and dungeon crawler Cult of the Lamb has received a new trailer, showcasing the frenetic action of the dark action game starring a cute little lamb. It’s coming to Nintendo Switch this year.
Another Crab’s Treasure
It was one of the highlights of the broadcast. It’s a Souls-like – or a Shells-like, as developer Agrocrab (Going Under) joked – where you play as a crab and fight giant monsters. Your objective is to buy back your recovered shell; meanwhile, you’ll be able to retrieve various items to use as your temporary shield, with 50 different options available. The segment indicated that one of the intentions is to make this difficult genre more accessible to newcomers. It will release sometime in 2023 on Switch and PC.
