Now in its twenty-fourth edition, the classic ASICS GEL-NIMBUS™ has many remarkable stories in its long history of success. To celebrate the long-awaited launch of the new GEL-NIMBUS™ 24, ASICS presents “Meu Corre com Nimbus”, production in which the ambassador Rachel Apollonio, as presenter, invites great characters to tell their main moments and memories with tennis.
The first guest of the series is Daniel Kuriu, marathon runner, physical therapist and ASICS FrontRunner, one of the classic lovers. He tells the special story of his runner journey with the GEL-NIMBUS™ in the episode. “I’ve had Nimbus by my side since 2007, it was the shoe I used to start running. These sneakers are so important that I hung them in my living room after the Paris Marathon,” says Daniel.
The second character of the webseries is Andressa Lopes, also a marathon runner, nutritionist and participant in the ASICS Lume Club, an ASICS project that took six amateur runners, with great trajectories, to the Paris Marathon. Andressa met “Nimbão” when she was still starting her life in street running, and soon recognized tennis as an inseparable companion in her strides.
“I started running because of my father’s encouragement. He signed me up for a race in my city and I ended up taking the podium. From then on, there were five, 10.21 kilometer races. My first marathon was in Porto Alegre, when I used the first NIMBUS™ I had, in 2018,” recalls Andressa.
The last account is from legend to legend. Icon of the streets, the GEL-NIMBUS™ meets an icon of the courts: Fabi Alvim, former Olympic champion volleyball player, opens up her personal life as an athlete and shows how important ASICS tennis was to find her rhythm within the race.
“When I started thinking about post-career, building my family, and even becoming a mother, I continued to practice physical activities and became a half marathon runner. I did it with the objective of clearing kilometers and I have ASICS on my side, and Nimbão too”, says the former libero of Brazil.
