Marvel has officially released the first trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder, the superhero’s fourth solo film. A teaser had already been revealed a few months ago, to the sound of Sweet Child O’Mine, from Guns n’ Roses, however the new promotional video reveals many new details about the film. Check out the trailer:
What stands out the most in the trailer is the return of Jane Foster, played by Natalie Portman. The character had last appeared in 2013’s Thor: The Dark World. However, this time she not only returns as the hero’s love interest, but also as a superhero who wields the classic hammer of the god of Thunder (and using the same name as the son of Odin).
Not only that, but the trailer also reveals the look of the villainous Gorr, the Butcher of the Gods. He will be played by Christian Bale, the renowned actor of classics such as American Psycho and the Dark Knight trilogy. In the plot, the antagonist is sworn to kill all gods. And speaking of gods, fans were also able to get a peek at Russell Crowe’s look as Zeus.
Thor: Love and Thunder will be directed by Taika Waititi, the Oscar winner for Jojo Rabbit who also directed the latest film in the franchise, Ragnarok. The film arrives in Brazilian cinemas on July 7 of this year.
