The digital gallery, created by GUT São Paulo for Compassa UOL, can be accessed from an application and offers a virtual reality experience on the smartphone
Over the last few years and decades works by great artists have been stolen, preventing people from having the experience of admiring them. And now, using technology, Compass UOL, a company focused on digital transformation, proposes to offer this possibility in another way, with a virtual gallery in the metaverse.
The action, created by GUT São Paulo and named “The Stolen Art Gallery”, brings together works by masters such as Van Gogh, Rembrandt, Cézanne, Caravaggio and Manet. It can be accessed from an app, available for iOS and Android devices, and offers the virtual reality experience from smartphones.
“These are very famous works of art, but because they were stolen, very few people had the feeling of looking at and directly admiring these works. So, to give back this unique feeling, and show the market all the creative and technological potential of Compass UOL, we created this metaverse where the public can have a different experience and at the same time interact with other visitors, whether from the United States, Brazil, or from anywhere in the world”, says Giulio Beloto, ACD at GUT São Paulo.
To publicize the action, the brand and the agency recorded a film in the United States, in which they invite five people to live the experience of “The Stolen Art Gallery”, and have their reactions captured.
“The technology explores the concept of the metaverse, creating a new level of social interaction between the visitor and the gallery. The proposal brings much more than a digital gallery, users interact with the works as in a physical museum and this can be done from anywhere in the world”, adds Alexis Rockenbach, CEO of Compass UOL.
