Vans, a global icon of creative expression, proudly allows its extended family of artists, creators and originators to share their unique perspectives, creative processes and passion for their causes in the “These Projects Are an Invitation to Creativity” branded campaign. Instead of advertising about creativity, Vans encourages artists to go out into the world and bring their projects to life – from music videos to sculptures, paintings and more.
In 2021, the same campaign enabled more than 60 global artists to present their projects to the world in honor of the myriad forms of art and the role it plays every day in our lives. This year, the campaign celebrates the diversity of creativity itself and honors the talents behind the work. Ambassadors and featured projects exemplify how creativity is used to celebrate great purposes, uplift and support communities.
Especially for the 2022 edition, Vans fans will delve deeper into the artist’s creation stages, inspirations and how individual expression can be used to celebrate the pride of the LGBTQIA+ community, the strength of female voices, the richness of diversity, the importance of sustainability and the infinite forms of creativity.
Based in Brooklyn, New York, STOKED is a non-profit organization with a mission to help fill the education and opportunity gaps for underserved youth. The project works in partnership with schools and mentors to carry out extracurricular activities focused on sports culture, building trust and relationships with society. For this project, the organization held a skateboard painting and assembly workshop for the local community.
“Above all else, Vans believes in knowledge, exploration and the power of creative expression. To that end, instead of simply making creative announcements, we are taking it a step further, investing in artists to bring their ideas to life and help them fulfill their purpose,” adds Kristin Harrer, Vans Director of Global Marketing, about the debut of this year’s Brand Campaign. “Since I started my career, I have wanted to change the world through the diversity of creativity. Vans is doing just that by continually striving to provide opportunities, access and platforms to uplift and empower communities through art, music and sports.”
Throughout the year, Vans will continue to elevate diverse creators and introduce new artists and partners to share their passion for the cause and community. Stay tuned for a behind-the-scenes look at the projects and soon to meet the Brazilian talent who will participate in Vans’ global branding campaign.
