According to a survey conducted by IDC in Latin America, 22% of Brazilians intend to use 5G technology in the next 12 months. The survey heard over 3,000 people in this region, and 723 Brazilians. Those in doubt about whether or not to embrace 5G in a year account for 42% of the survey. The rest said they will not make the switch for now.
“Among those who are not interested in replacing the plan, the main justifications are related to their current devices, as 39% are happy with their non-tech-enabled devices and 34% have recently changed their smartphone and would have to change one more time. ”, said Luciano Saboia, manager of research and consultancy in telecommunications at IDC Brasil.
The survey also presents other scenarios, where 84% of Brazilians say they believe that 5G will change the way data is consumed, and 74% believe it will revolutionize the way we work. Among the main reasons among those who decided not to switch to 5G is the additional cost of this technology. However, some experts say that the cost of 5G will become more affordable in a few years. This is a trend that every new update goes through after it has become more “popular” and spread to the masses.
