About the Vault by Vans X artists Sarah Andelman
Julia Chiang, Fumiko Imano, Sindiso Kumalo and Soko were the names responsible for the new collection. Each one brings its own style and different products, with prints that represent part of their life or thoughts. Check out the models below:
Julia Chiang’s New York collection shares her joy and nostalgia when she thinks about the Vans brand. It includes an OG Authentic LX that features paint over a washed denim upper, and a watercolor-inspired heavyweight cotton tee with blue accents.
Fumiko Imano opted for portraits from her exhibition “Somehow Somewhere times at Some Place for Some Reason” to contribute to the collection’s t-shirt. The piece features a photographic constitution of the artist’s exhibition, as well as her calligraphy, puff ink and embroidery that capture the essence of the juxtaposition of her hand-crafted work.
Sindiso Khumalo, who lives in South Africa, works to create sustainable clothing, with an emphasis on uplifting black women and telling the story of their African heritage. These were the values passed on in her collaboration for the collection, which features the OG Style 24 NTC LX model and a t-shirt.
Finally, Soko, who is a French musician, singer, songwriter and actress, decided to revisit her childhood memories with bright and fun illustrations of her cat, Felix, customizing the Old Skool V platform upper for the collab.
