Playstation has officially announced that Capcom will release a remake of one of its greatest hits: Resident Evil 4. The announcement was made during State of Play, an event known for the announcement of new productions. The game also won a special video showing some very scary details and scenes to make fans even more anxious.

The game will be released on March 24, 2023 for Playstation 5, Series X/S and PC. Unfortunately, previous-gen players will be left out of the remake’s gameplay, as there is no plan to release it to older consoles. A Playstation Blog post may better explain the decision. According to the text:
“This time around, the title is being developed to achieve the best possible quality for a 2023 horror game, while preserving the essence of the original. We intend to make it familiar to fans of the series, while still giving it an air of something new, revamping the story, maintaining the essence of the direction, modernizing the graphics and updating the controls.”
It is worth mentioning that the game has been completely redone. Although the trailer shows many elements of the original version, many rumors say that not everything is the same as the game from 2004. Some leaks talk about the exclusion of characters and about the redesign of some stages, such as the castle. Still, more details of what has been changed should be released soon.
