Broadcaster had a contract to broadcast the World Cup until the end of this season
Band will continue broadcasting Formula 1 in Brazil until the end of 2025, after signing a new agreement that provides for exclusivity for broadcasting all stages of the World Championship in 2023, 2024 and 2025.
In February last year, Grupo Bandeirantes announced that the agreement would run until the end of this year.
“Formula 1 is today the main sport product of Grupo Bandeirantes. I believe that the continuation of the partnership between Band and Formula 1 is the result of the good work done from last year until now”, says Denis Gavazzi, sports director of Grupo Bandeirantes de Comunicação.
Ian Holmes, director of media rights and content creation for Formula 1, commented on the growth of the category in Brazil. “Formula 1 has always had a significant presence in Brazil and an illustrious history associated with the country. The sport has enjoyed a great deal of interest over the past few seasons and it looks like we are experiencing another great title battle in this exciting new era of F1,” he says.
