For the second year in a row, the SBT News – representing the journalism of the SBT in digital – leads the ranking of the most reliable journalistic brands in Brazil. The data appears in the 2022 edition of the survey Digital News Reportmade by the Reuters Institute, based at the University of Oxford, in the United Kingdom.
According to the survey, journalism in the SBT is trusted by 62% of Brazilians. Record Newsregional newspapers and Band News are tied for second place, with 61%. wow e Globo come next, with 57% and 56%, respectively.
The survey also confirms the strength of the internet as a means of information: 83% of Brazilians use online channels to receive news and 64% use social networks. TV follows with 55%, while print newspapers have 12%.
In the list of social networks most used by Brazilians for information, YouTube surpassed WhatsApp and Facebook, being used by 43% of the population as a means of seeking news. Instant messenger appears with 41% and Mark Zuckerberg’s network, which led the ranking in the previous survey, has 40%.
In addition to credibility, the SBT News it also has the largest news channel in Latin America on YouTube, according to Tubular Labs — a global leader in video monitoring and measurement platforms for information vehicles. Reaching 4 million subscribers, there are more than 2 billion views in a daily schedule of newspapers produced exclusively for the platform, to which are added the reports broadcast on TV.
