I’m not a big fan of comedy series, but Fortuna looks pretty cute. The new series starring Maya Rudolph (awarded for Saturday Night Live) premieres this Friday, the 24th, on Apple TV Plus, with three episodes. The others will arrive on streaming one each week.
In “Fortuna,” billionaire Molly Novak (Rudolph) has the life of her dreams. She has private jets, a huge mansion, a big yacht and everything her heart desires. But when her 20-year-old husband cheats on her, she publicly breaks down. With that, she becomes the perfect material for the gossip tabloids. About to hit rock bottom, she discovers she has a charitable organization led by the pragmatic Sofia Salinas (MJ Rodriguez, from Pose). With dedicated assistant Nicholas (Kim Booster) by her side, the help of Sofia and a new team, Molly embarks on a journey of self-discovery. In this series, helping others might be just what she needs to get back to herself.
The creators are Emmy Award winners Alan Yang (Master of None) e Matt Hubbard (30 Rock, Forever). Fortune has 10 episodes.
