Actions aims to promote a healthy environment for the community on the platform
TikTok has prepared a series of initiatives to celebrate LGBTQIAP+ pride month with the aim of promoting a healthy environment for the community on the platform.
Among the actions that seek to enhance the discussion and exalt diversity, there is a lypsinc battle for Drag Queens, new effects for the videos, educational videos and the invitation for everyone to share their love and struggle stories through the hashtags #LivreParaSer and #TeAmoComOrgulho.
Batalha Drag Sync
The Drag Sync Battle, with the participation of Ludmilla, Grag Queen, Ikaro Kadoshi and other artists, will be a performance contest between Drag Queens and candidates who want to participate must post a video, up to 60”, using one of the 10 songs available on the platform with #TikTokDragSync. Entries can be made until this Wednesday (22), by the link.
The 16 best videos will move on to the second phase where the selected Drags must post a new performance between June 28th and July 7th and the TikTok community will choose the best eight videos. The best performance will be rewarded with a trip to DragCon UK 2023 and another R$10,000 in prizes. In total, the three finalists receive R$ 18,000 in prizes.
Stories of love and struggle
The hashtag #TeAmoComOrgulho is another highlight of TikTok’s initiatives that aim to encourage its entire community to express themselves freely and authentically throughout the year.
The hashtag, used to celebrate and talk about all forms of love, already has more than 1 billion views.
New effects for videos
To celebrate the month, the platform also created an effect to help the community get inspired by creating content. To gain access, users must search for Pride that Unites in the effects library.
For people who are designers or developers, it is possible to participate in an effects creation contest within Effect House.
educational content
The platform’s search option has also changed its face. Users who use the rainbow emoji in the search field will have access to different educational content and topics for the LGBTQIAP+ community, such as sexuality, family, health, visibility, fashion and beauty, NGOs, etc. The hub will be available over the next few days and will be live throughout the year.
In addition, TikTok also created a page with all the videos of the hashtag #LivreParaSer and #TeAmoComOrgulho, with movie tips and a link to a commemorative playlist.
