The contents were developed in partnership with Todxs and highlight the role of the allied person
Uber invited former boxer Popó to star in its campaign to combat LGBTQIAP+phobia.
The purpose of the initiative is to alert driver partners and app users about discriminatory behavior that is not tolerated on the Uber platform, according to the Community Code.
In the campaign videos, developed in partnership with Todxs, Popó talks about his personal struggle against LGBTQIA+phobia and shares his learning as a father of a gay man.
“We were based on real questions from partner drivers and users of our platform to provide simple and didactic answers. As a company that is so present in people’s daily lives, it is our mission to use our technology to contribute so that they can move freely and without fear,” said Luciana Ceccato, Uber’s Marketing Director in Brazil.
The videos will be uploaded by Uber’s own app and will be available on the brand’s Instagram.
“Building an inclusive society is a collective process. Therefore, we believe that sensitizing people with educational content that connects with their reality and shows how they can be allies is essential for us to be able to move forward”, he added. Ana Beatriz Santos, Executive Director of Todxs.
In May, also in partnership with Todxs, Uber launched Guia do Aliado, which brought educational content on how each person can contribute and support the LGBTQIA+ community. The material was released on the International Day of Struggle against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia to the more than 22 million users and 1 million driver partners of Uber.
