The Jr. NBA, the NBA’s global youth basketball development program for boys and girls, features the first Brazilian squad of basketball influencers, made up of five young content creators aged 12 to 19 from four cities across the country – São Paulo, Rio de January, Marília and Toledo. Jr’s Squad NBA Brazil will create original content for the show’s official channels and build on the league’s commitment to developing unique and engaging programming for youth across the country.
The youths were winners of a Jr. NBA on social media, which invited aspiring content creators to recreate an iconic play and celebration of a player in the league using the hashtag “#GeraçãoJrNBA”, generating thousands of posts for selection.
Squad was formed to engage young basketball fans and followers across Brazil through challenges, exclusive interviews, live streams and more. The content will be posted on the official Jr channels. NBA, including Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram and TikTtok.
“We are excited about this project that combines Jr. NBA to use basketball to generate positive experiences for boys and girls and NBA Brazil’s continued focus on developing exclusive and genuine content,” said Rodrigo Vicentini, Head of NBA Brazil, “These five young people demonstrate a lot of creativity and willingness to learn and grow with the support of the league. We believe this team will transform the way basketball content is produced for young people in Brazil. We are excited to join them on this fun mission.”
