Submarino is the official e-commerce site for the 26th São Paulo International Book Biennial, which is taking place until July 10, at Expo Center Norte, with the expectation of receiving 600,000 visitors every day of the event. In addition to sponsoring the Bienal, the brand will have a stand of approximately 500m² with more than 1,900 different titles and special prices. Another highlight will be the Submarino stage, which will bring debates with guest authors during every day of the event. Some of these meetings will also be broadcast by the brand’s app.
Submarino’s stand will be in the mood of intergalactic travel, with a scenography that connects the reader client to different universes of readings. The venue will also have exclusive recordings of podcasts. On Saturday, the 9th, the podcasts “Bom Dia, Obvious” and “Modus Operandi” will be recorded live on the brand’s stage. The first will be attended by the host of the program, Marcela Ceribelli, and the author Carla Madeira. The second will have the presence of the authors of the book “Modus Operandi: true crime guide”, Carol Moreira and Mabê Bonafé, who will receive the author Illana Casoy, writer of books such as “Bom dia Verônica” and “Casos de Família” .
One of the novelties at this year’s Submarino stand is the shelf with a selection of titles from the hashtag #BookTokBrasil, with the main books that are content on the TikTok platform. The brand also presents to the public a themed bookcase from Skoob, a brand that is a literary assistant and Brazilian social network for readers. Skoob offers tools that organize “read”, “reading”, “want to read” and “wanted” books on a virtual shelf. There are more than 8.9 million people on the social network, available for free on the web and app. The Submarino stand brings as other activations some special scenarios of books that are successful among Brazilian readers, such as Harry Potter, in addition to a special activation by Ame.
According to Vitor Monte, Submarino’s head of marketing:
“We are very happy to participate once again in the Bienal, this time in São Paulo. We have been partners of the event for many years and a reference in the book market in Brazil. Our purpose is to increasingly democratize reading among Brazilians, bringing relevant content and debates from this universe to everyone. The theme we chose for this year, ‘A universe of new passions’, reinforces our objective of nurturing love for reading and offering resources to keep people’s desires even more alive. Therefore, the setting and programming of our spaces were designed to intensify the experience of visitors, transforming each book into a new portal that opens, allowing readers to find new passions, and preferably together with Sub.”
Special guests – Submarino’s partner ambassadors, authors and influencers have already confirmed their presence in the Palco Sub conversations. On Sunday (07/03), writer Renan Quinalha will participate in the table on self-acceptance and the LGBTQIAP+ community with the mediation of the ambassador of Submarino Pedro Pacífico, Bookster. On Tuesday (07/05), the writer Vitor Martins, author of “Quinze dias” and “A million happy endings” will participate in a panel on family relationships in literature, also talking about his latest release “Se a Casa 8 speak”.
On Thursday (07/07), for the chat “Contemporary Poetry: from the internet to the book”, the stage welcomes Igor Pires, author of the book “Textos Cruéis Demais” and João Doederlein, the AKAPOETA. On Friday (07/08), Ambassador Submarino Paola Aleksandra will mediate a conversation about young novels in literature with writer Clara Alves and writer Pedro Rhuas.
And writer Thalita Rebouças talks on the Submarino stage about literature for young audiences. On Saturday (09/07), Ilana Casoy participates in a chat to talk about the fascination with the ‘True Crime’ genre. The hiring of brand ambassadors, the Modus Operandi Podcast and the mediators of the Submarino stage tables were made by Stage Digital.
Obvious + Submarine Book Club special edition: Also on Saturday (09/07), Marcela Ceribelli, CEO and creative director of the content platform Obvious and ambassador for Sub, welcomes writer Carla Madeira, author of “Véspera” and “Tudo é Rio” to the Submarino stage. The chat will mark the first meeting of the 2nd edition of the Obvious book club, held in partnership with the brand. This is the first time that Clube do Livro Obvious + Submarino has held a face-to-face meeting, which will also be broadcast on Submarino’s YouTube channel.
The 2022 edition of the club features books with female protagonists. In the last edition of the club, most of the print runs were sold out. Club Obvious discussions will be open to the public through monthly subscriptions. The debates will always take place one month after the registration date, so that all participants can enjoy their readings in a light and fun way, until the day of the meeting. To participate and learn more, interested parties must register through the Submarino website.
Cashback and promotions – Submarino also offers special conditions at the Bienal. Customers who pay with Ame (Americanas SA fintech) will find at the event a selection of books with up to 50% cashback, that is, part of the money back. This same selection of titles will have up to 70% cashback for those who pay with the Ame credit card, registered as the main payment option in the app.
The brand also provides a special hotsite for all reading lovers, who cannot attend the event, to follow the brand’s special offers at the fair and the Sub’s stage schedule.
