A TIMcommercially launches the first network5G Standalonein Brasília tomorrow (6), according to the official release of the 3.5 GHz frequency by the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel). The start of operations in the region already has the activation of 100 antennas – which is equivalent to more than 2.5 times the initial regulatory minimum required by the rules of the 5G Auction – and reaches 50% of the population of the Federal Capital. At the site, in the next 60 days, another 64 antennas will be activated, reaching 65% of the population covered.
TIM is the only operator that promoted and promoted the definition of the Standalone standard, allowing Brazil to benefit from the most daring 5G technology of world excellence. The historic launch of the new network reinforces the company’s institutional mission of digitally including Brazilians.
The company’s CEO, Alberto Griselliadded:
“We are very proud of TIM’s leading role. Since 2019, we have been working towards 5G, with the creation of the first fifth-generation laboratories in the country and the realization of several pilots. Now, we deliver the first Standalone commercial network, and, at the same time, we continue to act strongly in the corporate segment, closing new partnerships so that technology can boost business and revolutionize different sectors of the Brazilian economy. We are facing a major transformation and TIM will lead this movement because we are the operator of the next generation.”
The executive also reinforces that, soon, TIM’s real 5G will reach the other capitals, according to Anatel’s schedule:“we will have the biggest and best 5G network in the country, just like we did with 4G”adds.
TIM’s 5G SA technology will be available from tomorrow in the main regions of the Federal District such as Águas Claras, Asa Norte, Asa Sul, Ceilândia, Cruzeiro, Gama, Guará, Lago Norte, Lago Sul, Noroeste, Recanto das Emas, Samambaia, Santa Maria, Industry and Supply Sector, Taguatinga and Vicente Pires. Soon, the new network will reach other areas of the Federal Capital.
