Born in 1979, in São Gonçalo/RJ, Marcelo Tavares, creator and CEO of Brasil Game Show, began his relationship with video games in 1986, when he won his first console, an Atari 2600 – the first of a collection that currently has more 350 consoles and around 4 thousand games, the largest in Brazil. In 2002, however, passion turned into a profession and Marcelo organized his first event, GameChurrasco, which only had one edition. In the following years, he worked as a producer, presenter and journalist in several media vehicles, such as Jornal da Cidade, JB Online, GameNews magazine and O Fluminense newspaper, until in 2009 he held the first edition of the Rio Game Show in Niterói, an event that in The following year it moved to Rio de Janeiro and became the Brasil Game Show (BGS). In 2012, BGS moved to São Paulo and today it is the largest games fair in Latin America, with 12 editions and more than 2 million visitors throughout its history.
