The platform wants to make users able to carry out the entire process without having to leave the app
Instagram is starting to offer a new feature for its users in the United States. The possibility of paying for purchases made in small businesses, answering questions and following up on orders directly via chat – or DMs, as the functionality is known.
Message payments will be available to eligible accounts that have set up an Instagram business account.
With the initiative, the platform wants to make users able to carry out the entire process without having to leave the app, as is currently the case, and also strengthens Meta Pay as a digital wallet.
According to Meta, every week, one billion users send messages to one of the apps that integrate the company, such as Facebook and WhatsApp, to establish conversations with brands, search for products, ask for help or to interact with stories.
